Aliesha Swaby, RMT, brings a calm, compassionate, and grounded approach to massage therapy. With a background in track and field and a strong understanding of repetitive strain injuries, she works well with clients seeking deep tissue massage, sports massage, relaxation massage, hot stone massage, cupping therapy and support for acute or chronic muscle tension.
Aliesha Swaby, RMT, is a knowledgeable, compassionate, and relaxed individual who truly cares about her clients’ wellbeing. As a registered massage therapist since 2015, she is a member in good standing with the CMTO. Aleisha’s interest in massage therapy began during her time as a track and field athlete, where she experienced multiple repetitive strain injuries, from ankle sprains to hamstring and groin strains. Without access to regular therapy, she pushed through the pain and, through hard work and dedication, earned a scholarship to the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, to study physical and athletic therapy.
Unfortunately, a second-degree hip flexor injury ended her scholarship, as hurdles were her primary event. Upon returning to Toronto, Aliesha enrolled at York University, where she double majored in Kinesiology and Psychology. After taking a much-needed mental health break during her third year, she decided to focus on healing and personal growth. This journey led her to Trillium College, where she enrolled in the massage therapy program and graduated with honors.
During her time at Trillium, Aliesha gained valuable experience volunteering with organizations such as People With Aids, the Asian Community Aids Society, Enbridge’s Ride to Conquer Cancer, Shopper’s Weekend to End Women’s Cancer, and the Flying Angels Track and Field Academy. Her personal experience as an athlete has given her a deep understanding of the need for effective treatment, especially in the context of deep tissue massage, sports massage, and relaxing massage. Aleisha integrates relaxation into her treatments, as she believes that a relaxed muscle is far easier to treat than a tense one. She is excited to continue her journey in holistic health care and looks forward to making a positive impact on her clients’ wellbeing.
